Child Care Subsidy Changes
From 5 January 2026, changes to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) mean all eligible families can access at least 3 days of subsidised child care per week.
What’s changing?

All CCS-eligible families will receive a minimum of 72 hours of subsidised child care per fortnight (equivalent to 3 days p/w)

The activity test will be replaced with recognised participation requirements.
