How long have you been working in early education and care?
What qualifications do you have?
Diploma in Children’s Services
What is your favourite part of working at your centre?
Meeting the families and building positive relationships with them. Watching the children develop and guiding them on their journey, treating them all as capable individuals. Working with a team of hardworking, caring and long-standing educators.
What are you most passionate about?
I am passionate about children learning through play, having lots of fun and making memories that will last forever. Children need to be given the opportunities to learn through risk taking and be able to explore in an environment that is familiar to them. I believe that this will be achieved through creating a warm and nurturing environment with familiar educators who encourage learning, exploration and risk taking.
What inspired you to become an Educator?
For as long as I can remember I always wanted to work with young children. Growing up I was surrounded by younger children and I could see the joy that they brought into my life. I knew educating and helping a child develop would be one of the most rewarding careers I could have.
What values are most important to you in your team members?
Honesty, passion, hardworking and working as a team (communication).
What is your philosophy in educating children?
I believe in building reciprocal relationships of trust and care with children and families. As a Director I endeavour to make children feel safe and secure in their surroundings. Families play a large part in this feeling of safety and security by providing us with background a knowledge of the child’s home environment that we can try to parallel and match in the childcare learning environment. I view children as capable and confident beings, children are capable of making their own decisions, solving their own problems, being trusted and being responsible.
